This home is in the Auke Bay Elementary school district, which is the best elementary school in Juneau. Arctic Circle is in the Mendenhall Valley which has many amenities for families. Arctic Circle is its own Alaskan Lake House & Ski Lodge. This house is a five minute walk from the West Glacier Trail Head where you can hike and stand on the Mendenhall Glacier and see the ice caves or you can hike to the summit of Mt McGinnis .
The backyard of this home is the Tongass National Rainforest and the Mendenhall Campground run by the National Forest Service. The campground is open May 15 to September 15 and during the winter is kept groomed by Juneau's Nordic Ski Club so that it feels like a winter playground is in your backyard. Cross country skis are a must if you live at this house.
